EMMANUEL JONCKERS / KozInga

KozInga

King Size Dinning Table / Conference Table
Aeronautical Alloy Aquatinted .
Inlays of Engraved Blue translucid epoxy.
Edition: Unique piece.

Very special metal alloy (close to the titanium) sculpted and worked by lot of different process in the mass by hands.
The challenge was to give life and soul to a material of high technology and high precision produced by engineering to make aircraft and spaceship engines.
Can’t be casted or welded, just sculpted in the mass.

Emmanuel renamed it Theia because this table is almost indestructible, it survived the Beirut explosion while the appartment in which it was located was almost totally destroyed. It combines with refinement the precious and rare metals, the materials of high technologies with alloys of precious metals used in jewellery, which make it an exceptional masterpiece.

Theia is the first density zone of the largest and oldest known Hyperion proto-superma.

Theia is also a hypothetical Mars-sized protoplanet that collided with the Earth about four and a half billion years ago. This event would have expelled large amounts of matter into space, which would then have coalesced under the effect of gravitation, giving rise to the Moon, and bringing water to the Earth.

The name Theia alone means simply “goddess” or “divine”; Theia Euryphaessa brings overtones of extent and brightness.

In Greek mythologyTheia (/ˈθə/Ancient GreekΘείαromanizedTheíalit.‘divine’, also rendered Thea or Thia), also called Euryphaessa (Ancient GreekΕὐρυφάεσσα) “wide-shining”, is one of the twelve Titans, the children of the earth goddess Gaia and the sky god Uranus.

She is the Greek goddess of sight and vision, and by extension the goddess who endowed goldsilver and gems with their brilliance and intrinsic value.

She is also the wife of Hyperion, with whom she conceives Helios, Selene, Eos and Titan.

Table top is composed of two discrete individual parts for transport and handling.
