The Iridis Hyacinthum table is an exploration of light in its most mysterious nuances. Its name, evoking the purplish and bluish reflections of the hyacinth flower, introduces a piece where the metal appears to transmute, offering a rare and haunting chromatic palette.

The Concept: Iridis Hyacinthum captures that fleeting moment when light fades and shadows are tinged with electric reflections. The Materials: This creation is crafted from engraved aquatinted maillechort, subjected to a specific oxidation and patina process to reveal its signature “hyacinthum” tones (iridescent purples, blues, and browns). Unlike solar-themed pieces, this table explores the depths of the metal’s colour spectrum, offering a rich and nuanced aesthetic.

The Craftsmanship: The aquatint etching creates a high-density texture that acts as a light trap. Emmanuel Jonckers develops the patina so that the metal’s natural pigments react to create this iridescent veil.
