The Reflexion coffee table is a study in the distortion of reality. It explores the precise moment when the image of our surroundings fragments upon contact with a surface, creating a hybrid version between the original and the material support.

The Concept: For Emmanuel Jonckers, a reflection is never a perfect copy. It is a fragmented image, influenced by the texture and soul of the material that receives it. The table becomes a filter—an interface that reinterprets the world around it, offering a dreamlike and textured vision of reality.

The Materials: Crafted entirely from engraved aquatinted maillechort, the table possesses a silvery radiance that is not that of a perfect mirror, but that of a living surface. The maillechort captures surrounding light and colours, blending them with its own metallic nuances to create a unique visual depth.

The Craftsmanship: The engraving acts as a “visual disruptor.” Emmanuel uses his signature etching technique to create micro-reliefs that catch the light and break the reflection. The pattern appears to float between the metal surface and the reflected image, blurring the lines between the solid and the ethereal.
