The Concept : This artwork is inspired by a vision of the duality between the organic and the mineral. It questions to what extent mineral components exist within the vegetal, and whether architecture and mineral structures are governed by the same primordial principles of assembly. It is a tribute to the “vital geometry” that organizes all matter.

The Materials : The piece is crafted from engraved aquatinted Bronze. The choice of Bronze brings a warm, solar energy to the work, evoking the life force of organic organisms. Its rich surface allows for a deep play of light, emphasizing the fluid and biological nature of the design.

The Craftsmanship : The mastery of aquatint etching on Bronze is used to create a vibrant, pulsating texture. Emmanuel Jonckers hand-engraves the surface to mimic the complexity of cellular structures or the intricate veins of a leaf.
